Phoenix groaned weakly as he opened his eyes. The room was dimly lit by a light in the window. He looked around the room and froze when his gaze landed on the sleeping figure on the couch across from him. Her hands, though unbound, were severely lacerated, and she held a heavily guarded air about her, as though ready to attack anyone that came near. The whip that was her trademark was firmly grasped in her hand. She would look almost threatening, if it wasnt for the pained look on her face.
Phoenix gasped as the immense damage in his chest made itself known, he gasped sharply and clutched at his chest weakly. The pain
Franziska opened her eyes slowly, her head throbbing painfully. She finally got a grip on her consciousness and looked around, it was a courtroom. Almost too dark to tell except for the flashlight placed in the middle of the room. She quickly took notice that this was a courtroom that hadnt been used in a while, at least a year. She then noticed that she was tied to something, hanging from it in fact, by her hands. She was tied to the front of the judges bench. In front of her face a rope hung in the form of a noose, ready to tighten itself to her neck. Sighing softly, she took note of her situation. Her mouth was bound pret

Last one of these, folks, and Christ, was it a challenge to write this.
Not in the sense of the plot, which I had the rough concept of done beforehand, but more because I'm exhausted by a whole lot of bullshit I've had to do for the last few weeks in the army, what with a sinus infection followed by a weekend standing around in honor guard gear (which wasn't too bad, as I got to rest and eat without much of a hurry), then having to march around for hours and hours in full combat equipment, then running in the aforementioned tactical combat vests under the hot blazing sun, etc. and shooting for almost an entire day. “You done with this page?” Natsuki asked you. You gave a nod as she turned to the next page. You had been getting adjusted to life without Sayori, thanks in large part to the Literature Club. While you felt able to walk home once more, the lingering feeling of what you could have said to save your best friend’s life still left you hollow. As such, you would often bunk with the other members almost every three days. And, much to your relief, they seemed to enjoy your company. Monika especially. Today, Natsuki invited you over to her house to test out sweets. At least, that’s what she insisted. Natsuki was always an enigma to you compared to Monika and Yuri. Yes, they too have their mystery, but none of them were as misleading as Natsuki. You still remembered when you first met her and how she offered you cupcakes, only to retort that you shouldn’t get the wrong idea. Same was true here. As she invited you over, she instantly coupled it with the usual “don’t get the wrong idea”
Hey again. I saw recently that you added the chapter 4-16 of my "After the War" story to your favorites. Being the ending of the story (besides the epilogue chapter), it was a really hard chapter to write as I didn't want my own ME3 ending situation to happen. You adding it to your favorites is further proof that I succeeded in avoiding that. Thanks and I'm glad that you've been enjoying the story.
